Report
At Målbar, we are ready to assist our customers in meeting the new and increased demands on sustainability reporting in consequence of EU’s new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
Green Deal, CSRD, ESRS…
The CSRD springs from the EU GREEN DEAL, which – among many other things – states that the EU is striving to be the first climate neutral continent in 2050!
The main objective of the CSRD is to drive and support a sustainable transition regarding governance, environment, and the social aspect. Among other things, it strives to reduce emissions from companies through transparency and hard law alignment in sustainability reporting. And it has raised the reporting standards significantly.
The CSRD is divided into 12 European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) that describe how to report and what to report on. For the ESRS E1 Climate Change, the data work done in the Målbar screening tool can be of great help.
Målbar as foundation for working with reporting
Generally, your comprehensive work with product screenings, collecting documentation, gathering data from suppliers, and communicating with and learning about your value chain will create a strong foundation for your company’s ability to work with the CSRD requirements. Through your work with the screenings, you learn how to gather and evaluate data and securing its quality.
Specifically, the aggregated and weighted results enable precise data and findings to answer question 1- 4 in E1 Climate Change exhaustively, while supporting answers for the remaining. The ability to analyze the emissions on value chain level at the details of materials, country of origin and production, transportation, and product components enable the possibility to set targets and initiate actions that will lead to making a difference in the real world.
Hence, Målbar is a useful tool working with CSRD on a deep and transparent level, giving you a comprehensive foundation of data, knowledge, and working methods. Målbar’s ability to break down data making it easy to see, which phase(s) of the product life cycle bear the main part of the climate emissions is also an advantage in your work with the reporting directive. It can also support the process of setting targets across the value chain.
And this is just from your work with the screenings.
The next level
Additionally, Målbar offers a total emissions solution providing a detailed and streamlined value chain data overview presented in Power Bi. We provide you with an aggregated and weighted overview of all your completed product screenings. This way, you can compare your climate impact across categories, products, countries and even down to specific materials.
The high degree of detail, the proportions between emission drivers as well as the provided hotspot analysis across the aggregated value chain enable you to create tangible targets for your reduction strategies.
Mapping your value chain yields advantages throughout your organization and the results comply with PEF and can be used for your work with both the CSRD, green financial reporting, the GhG Protocol, and SBTi.
On top of this, you get the ability to track and compare changes in CO2eq emissions to base periods. Also, you can follow up and evaluate targets and product developments and add new products.
Our customized total emissions solution enables us to collect and combine all the data from screenings as well as accessing analyses. It is easy and intuitive to use and every insight can be customized to your specific company needs. It allows for deep data analyses while maintaining the overview.
Climate change: 1 out of 16 impact categories
Climate Change is the most important and urgent environmental impact category out of 16 impact categories defined by PEF. Each category represents a specific environmental impact that a product can have at some point in its lifecycle. The PEF method analyzes a product’s total impact on the environment by evaluating its contribution to each of the categories. The CSRD requires companies to report on all 16 impact categories. For now, Målbar only measures on climate change, but we are working on incorporating the remaining 15 categories into our screening tool.
