Danish Design Makers is an alliance of designers with different nationalities, but all with strong ties to the Danish design tradition. For their 2024 design challenge, they have asked a number of furniture companies to write an anonymous brief on a piece of furniture they would like to see come alive through the hands of an unknown designer.

On top of the blind date challenge, the project includes an overall theme of reduction – and this is where Målbar comes into the picture. All designers have gained access to our climate screening tool to be able reduce the climate footprint of their designs. The calculations will be revealed along with the designs and the blind dates at ORGATEC Cologne on October 22nd.

We are very happy and honored to be able to contribute to the education of the upcoming masterminds and we hope that we can help make the young generation feel empowered and believe in the future.

As part of a larger cooperation initiated by The Circular Furniture Network between Målbar, The Upcycl and 6 design companies, 13 very creative stools were created from the same basic stool made of reused pinewood.

We have formed a collaboration with Bly Studio to elaborate on the designs that the young design duo creates in the 2022 season of “Denmark’s next Classic”.
